Our Career Services office offers a variety of services to assist students across all academic disciplines in all phases of career decision-making and job search. In addition to traditional appointments, our team offers drop-in sessions that last 15 minutes or less and can answer your questions about anything related to academic major, careers, resume review, internships, iCAP and personality assessments.
Dr. Millane is an honors graduate with a BS from Cornell University, MBA from Canisius College, and a Ph.D. from SUNY at Buffalo. She also completed The Executive Leadership course at Harvard on performance metrics. Previously, Dr. Millane served as Associate Dean at Canisius College where she founded the Women's Business Center. Her experience also includes hiring, training and managing employees for Hilton and Marriott Hotels in Chicago, Seattle, San Juan, Houston, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Providence and Washington D.C. Dr. Millane currently serves on the National Board of Directors for The Washington Internship Institute and the Amherst Senior Citizens Foundation, is a member of Leadership Buffalo and is a docent for the Albright Knox Art Gallery.
Mr. Lamark Shaw is Associate Director and an adjunct professor who teaches CFE101 at Daemen College. Mr. Shaw also is the Sales Manager/Buyer for United Men’s Fashion in Buffalo, New York. He has a BS in Design from Buffalo State College, MS in Organizational Leadership from Medaille College and an Entrepreneurial Leadership Certificate from the University of Buffalo. Mr. Shaw is currently working on his Ph.D. in Organization and Management at Capella University.
Ashley is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Daemen College receiving both a BS in Business Administration, Human Resource Management and a BS in Health Care Studies, Community Health Administration where she was recognized as a Student of Distinction. During her undergrad, Ashley worked as a Career Peer Coach in the Career Services office for three years. Ashley also served as an Academic Writing Coach, Tour Guide and held E-board positions in two student organizations: the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Health Care Studies Student Association (HCSSA). Ashley will be pursuing her Master of Public Health Degree from Daemen College starting Fall 2016.
Michelle Thompson is the Employer and Student Relations Coordinator. In addition to providing administrative support and supervising the Career Peer Coaches, Michelle is responsible for the project management of career fairs and onsite employer recruitment. Having previously worked at Autism Services, Inc. and the Research Foundation of SUNY Buffalo, she brings with her an extensive background in projects management, grants management, budget development, fiscal forecasting, personnel and office management. Michelle also volunteers her time at Pets Alive WNY animal rescue.

Hello, my name is Emma Johnson. I am a 3 rd year student in the Physical Therapy Program. In my spare time, I like to do community service events, such as walks for Breast Cancer Awareness. On campus, I am a member of the Greek organization Delta Phi Mu.
I am a first-year student in the 5-Year Physician Assistant Program. I am from East Amherst, NY and graduated in June 2016 from Sacred Heart Academy. In my spare time, I like to play soccer and softball as well as help my mom cook and bake. I also like crafts and working with children.
I am a first-year student currently in the Biology program. I graduated from VVS High School in Verona, NY. I enjoy volunteering at a local hospital and helping out in the community and enjoy baking.
I am a 3rd-year psychology major currently working at the WNY Children’s Psychiatric Center! After I graduate with my Bachelor’s, I hope to acquire my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and to continue working with children. When I am not at school or work, I enjoy reading, biking, road trips, and baking.
