Why did you choose Daemen?
While the small class sizes were a big factor, the primary reason I picked Daemen is because of the distance between Buffalo and my hometown. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and get some new experiences and perspectives- that's what college is all about!
In what ways are you involved on campus?
When I have free time I try to help out with some of the clubs on campus, such as the Iconoclast Literary Magazine & Insight Student Newspaper, as well as Dungeons at Daemen!
What advice would you give to a prospective student?
Follow your heart. College can be a scary thought when you're in your last few years of high school; you might not know what you want to do with your life yet- and yet you're expected to make this major decision that can completely change your life. Do what **you** feel is best for **you**, and don't let other people sway that decision, even if it's your best friends or your parents. You're the one that matters.
What excites you most about being a tour guide?
I came to Daemen knowing almost nothing about it, other than the fact that it was a small private school, a 6-hour drive away. I'm excited to be able to teach people the amazing things I've learned about this school, and I want to engage with prospective students in ways I wasn't able to when I was an incoming student.
What is your most memorable moment at Daemen?
As much as living off-campus is great, I do miss living in the campus apartments; I have some really great memories of my roommates and I having little get togethers in our living room where we made a big meal together, listened to music, and played Mario Kart until the late hours of the night, talking about anything and everything.
How has Daemen changed or shaped your life?
Daemen has become my new home. Not only have I devoted myself to living off-campus and becoming a full-time Buffalo resident, but I also met my best friend during my freshman year here, and I don't know what I'd be doing if I hadn't met her. Friends from high school might not always stick- but college is where you meet the ones who you'll be friends with forever.
Who inspires you the most?
I personally try not to have role models, I think that when you idealize someone you don't get to see them for their entire self. I try to take inspiration from myself instead, keeping note of the ways I change and grow as a person, because I know where I've come from, and what a strong person I have become.
