Meet the Staff
Mrs. Girard is a proud alumna of Daemen College. She began her education when Daemen was still Rosary Hill College. She took a brief 13 year hiatus to raise her four children (or at least get them into school) before she came back to Daemen -- and hasn’t left since. That was nearly 34 years ago. Early on, Sue was charmed by the student population and knew she had found her calling. She remains in close touch with many of the students she has come to know over the years and whom have come to feel like family. Mrs. Girard is proud to have been named an honorary sister in Daemen’s Lambda Chi Iota sorority during her many years of serving as the sorority’s moderator. She was also honored with the Distinguished Administrator’s Award in 1997.
As Director of Health & Insurance Services, Sue strives to help students discover their personal solutions, by educating and empowering them so they can achieve their true potential and healthiest life. With Sue’s guidance, students establish good health, prevent disease and injuries, and develop effective self-advocacy skills as they invest in a lifelong pursuit of wellness and healthy living.
When not at Daemen, Sue can be found cheering on her many grandchildren at hockey, baseball and basketball games, cheerleading competitions, gymnastics, and dance and violin recitals.

After many years of working in the family optical business with her now-retired parents, Mrs. Pietraszewski (pet-rah-chef-ski) A.K.A. Mrs. Pie, is excited to branch out into the administrative healthcare side of academics. The atmosphere of learning is one where she has always found to be the most rewarding and is thrilled to be working with the students, faculty and staff at Daemen College.
Family time is the best! Visiting with her sisters, brother and their families are the highlights of every year. The brightest times however are spent with her husband, two sons, and dogs, Flash and Luna. Mrs. Pie loves cheering on her teenage son during soccer, baseball and band. She loves volunteering in Band Parents and Board Member committees helping make her son's educational experiences as fun and memorable as they can be!
