Test Accommodation Procedure

Prior to Exam

  • Students are responsible for scheduling tests using the Accommodated Test Request link at least two business days before the assessment date
  • Requests that do not meet the two business day deadline can not always be honored. Please email testrequest@daemen.edu to inquire if making arrangements is possible

Day of the Exam

  • The student should report to the Student Success Center 5 -10 minutes prior to the scheduled exam time
  • The student is responsible for bringing all necessary supplies for the exam (i.e. pens, pencils, calculator, etc.)
  • Only authorized materials indicated in the proctoring instructions will be permitted inside the test room
  • The student will return the assessment to Student Success Center staff upon completion.  The assessment will then be returned to the instructor using the method indicated in the proctoring instructions
  • If the student does not show up for the scheduled appointment or is more than 20 minutes late without prior communication to testrequest@daemen.edu or 716-839-8228, the assessment will not be given.  An email will be sent to the student with the faculty member copied indicating the situation.  It is then up to the faculty member’s discretion whether a make up will be given.

Please note that all tests should be taken during class time.  However, due to certain accommodations and/or scheduling concerns, some students may need to begin the test at a different time. This time should be mutually agreed upon with the instructor prior to scheduling the assessment.

  • Evening exams and early morning exams - Typically, Accessibility Services administers exams 8:30am - 4:30pm.  When possible, students will be asked to take evening exams earlier in the day. If an exam must be administered before 8:30am or will not be completed before 4:30pm, the student should contact testrequest@daemen.edu at least a week ahead of time to see if arrangements can be made.
  • Exam date/time change - It is the student's responsibility to notify Accessibility Services if an exam date or time has been changed or canceled.
