Why did you choose Daemen College?

I chose Daemen College because of its small campus and class sizes. I wanted my relationships with my teachers to be very personal. I didn’t want to sit in a lecture class of 500 kids where nobody knew my name. Daemen also has very great science programs that will help prepare me for my future in the medical field.

Why did you choose your present major?

I chose my present major of Biology/Pre-Med because I have always been interested in a career in the medical field. I am interested in the medical field because I want to help people. I know that this is the right major for me because during my senior year I spent half of my school day shadowing different professions within the medical field. I am also excited to take all of my science based classes because those are the most interesting to me, which also means I tend to excel in them.

Please describe your academic experience at Daemen College. (Ex: It is challenging, but I know it will prepare me for my career..etc)

I know that my career at Daemen will challenge me. However, I know that the challenges I face and overcome will prepare me for my future career. At Daemen you have to work hard in order to succeed and I am looking forward to the rest of my years at Daemen.

Do you live on campus? Please tell us about your on campus experiences.

Since I am a freshman I am required to live on campus. I live in Canavan Hall on the third floor. The rest of the residents on my floor are very social and they love talking to new people. Living on campus is a great way to meet other students. It is also a great way to be introduced to people from all different places and cultures.

What do you like best about Daemen College?

My favorite thing about Daemen is how dedicated the staff are to helping and connecting with their students. Daemen’s small campus and class size allows for more personal relationships with staff members. This environment allows me to excel in my classes and feel like I have somebody to turn to if  there is ever a problem.

What is your favorite campus hangout? Why?

My favorite place to hang out on campus is in the library or in the Common Area/Lounge on the third floor. I like to hang out in the library to study by myself or with friends. The library is a great place to hang out because it is very modern and there is an area of the library that matches everybody's needs. For example, there is a silent floor, a floor that allows little to no noise and a floor that allows talking as well as other noise. When I am not doing homework I like to hang out in the lounge. The lounge is a great area to get to know the other people on your floor.
