Athletic Training Information Session Planned

Oct 31, 2016

AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College will host an information night on Nov. 9 for its athletics training program, which is one of only two in New York State and among 65 in the U.S. offered at the professional master’s level.

The event will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Room 201 in the Academic and Wellness Center at 4433 Main St., located directly across the street from the college’s main campus. Refreshments will be served.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to tour the athletic training program’s state-of-the-art classrooms and learning spaces in the Academic and Wellness Center. Attendees will also learn about the program from faculty, students and graduates, and local professionals will talk about working in the field.

An overview will be provided on Daemen’s 3-plus-2 program, which offers students the opportunity to earn in five years a bachelor’s degree in natural science or health promotion and a master’s degree in athletic training, as well as the direct entry master-level program designed for students with a bachelor’s degree.

Established in 2008, Daemen’s athletic training program has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education since 2012. For four year consecutive years, graduates of the program have earned a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the Board of Certification exam.

Registration is requested, but not required, to attend Daemen’s athletic training information night by calling 839-8225.
