AMHERST, N.Y. -- Two Daemen College administrators have completed the 2015-16 Academic Leadership Institute (ALI), a Western New York Consortium of Higher Education program designed to prepare administrative staff for higher education leadership positions.

This year’s program participants from Daemen are Sabrina Fennell of Amherst, director of academic advisement, and Lamark Shaw of Buffalo, assistant director of career services.

“We were pleased to support the participation of these exceptional administrators in this professional development opportunity to help build their leadership skills for future career advancement,” said Dr. Michael Brogan, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college.

The ALI program is comprised of a series of sessions with regional education leaders who address managing faculty and staff, fiscal management, assessment program review and accreditation, managing and facilitating change, and trends in higher education. Participants, who are selected by colleges and universities in the consortium, also engage in group discussions and give a presentation at the conclusion of the program.

The ALI program is supported by the John R. Oishei Foundation through the WNY Consortium for Higher Education.
