Below are the many ways you can connect with our students for internships and job opportunities:
Internships
An internship is a form of experiential learning that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skill development in a professional setting. Internships give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields they are considering for career paths. They also give employers the opportunity to guide and evaluate talent. Click on the following for an overview of how internships work:

Internship Programs Under the Fair Labor Standards Act
Work Opportunity Tax Credit
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a Federal tax credit incentive that the Congress provides to private-sector businesses for hiring individuals from nine target groups who have consistently faced significant barriers to employment.

Employers can create a Handshake account to post job and internship opportunities directly for students and alumni to view. Registered and approved organizations may also have the ability to search student and alumni resumes in Handshake. Posting position announcements and access to candidate resumes are FREE.

Recruiters on Campus (ROC) was initiated to offer Daemen College students and employers an opportunity to connect. ROC tabling occurs in the Wick Lobby between the hours of 11:30 am – 1:00 pm on select Tuesdays.
Recruiters on Campus is back! In an effort to prevent an outbreak of COVID-19, some changes are being made to how our monthly Recruiters on Campus (ROC), which is FREE to employers, will run this fall:
- Only three employers will be permitted to attend per date.
- Only one recruiter per employer will be allowed to attend.
- Recruiters will be required to wear a face mask while on campus.
- No handshaking will be permitted.
ROC will run from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm. It is highly encouraged that recruiters arrive at 11:00 am to have time to find parking and set-up your table. ROC will be held in the Alumni Lounge in the Wick building unless otherwise noted in your confirmation letter.
- One covered 6’ foot table
- Promotion via email, bulletin boards, faculty, and social media
