Feb 17, 2017AMHERST, N.Y. – Frank S. Williams, Daemen College’s associate vice president for enrollment management and dean of admissions, has been named interim vice president for enrollment management, announced President Gary A. Olson today in a statement to the campus community. The appointment is effective March 1.
Williams will succeed Dr. Patricia Ruppert Brown, who will retire on May 1. A national search for a permanent vice president that has been underway will be temporarily suspended and then resumed in the summer, which is considered to be the ideal time to attract a broad range of strong candidates to fill this important role.
“Frank brings nearly 19 years of experience in higher education to this position, more than a decade of it right here at Daemen,” said Gary A. Olson, president of the college. “He will provide excellent leadership in building on the success and progress we have experienced in our admissions and enrollment efforts.”
As vice president for enrollment management, Williams will oversee Daemen’s admissions operations and provide leadership in achieving the college’s enrollment goals.
“I extend my deepest thanks to President Olson, the Cabinet, and the Board of Trustees for the opportunity to continue my service at Daemen in this leadership capacity,” said Williams. “In this interim role, I look forward to working collaboratively with my colleagues to develop innovative ideas to enroll a strong academic class and to help increase retention.”
Williams has served in his associate vice president position at Daemen since 2015, having previously worked in the college’s Office of Admissions as director, and senior associate and associate director. Prior to joining Daemen in 2006, he served in various capacities at SUNY institutions, including Buffalo State, Fredonia, and Brockport.
Active with state and national professional organizations, Williams has served on the New York State Transfer and Articulation Association Executive Board, and is a member of the New York State Association for College Admissions Counselors and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
Williams earned a master’s degree in college student services and development from the University at Buffalo and a bachelor’s degree in secondary English education with a minor in sociology from SUNY Fredonia. He also received a leadership in enrollment management certificate from the Center for Enrollment Research, Policy at the University of Southern California‘s Rossier School of Education, and holds a license in ministry.
He resides in Cheektowaga.
