AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College has announced the appointment of Anthony Fulgenzio, an accomplished fundraising professional with more than 20 years of experience in higher education, as associate vice president for development. His appointment is effective March 21.

In this role, Fulgenzio will oversee the areas of major gifts, annual giving and alumni relations. He will also help stage and maximize the effectiveness of high-level special events, including those related to the institution’s 75th anniversary, in addition to donor recognitions, ribbon-cutting ceremonies and other receptions.

“Anthony brings creativity, energy and proven leadership skills to this vital fundraising role, and we’re confident he will be a strong leader for our college,” said Daemen President Gary Olson. “We look forward to working with him to create and enhance relationships with the many constituencies that make the Daemen community so unique.”

Fulgenzio spent over 17 years at Gannon University where he built a robust fundraising operation and secured numerous six-figure gifts for the institution. As executive director of philanthropy and communications, he was responsible for the largest gift in Gannon’s history – $4 million. He also supervised the university’s annual fund, securing more than $1 million on several occasions. Fulgenzio has also held leadership fundraising roles at Lake Erie College and Mercyhurst University.

He received both his bachelor’s degree in communication arts as well as his master’s degree in education leadership administration from Gannon University. Prior to entering higher education, Fulgenzio spent nearly 10 years as a television journalist, serving as a news anchor, reporter, editor and producer in Erie.
