AMHERST, N.Y. – “The Trans-Atlantic Populist Turn: Origins and Interpretations” will be discussed by Dr. Slawomir Jozefowicz, a political scientist at the University of Warsaw, at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 in Daemen College’s Wick Campus Center Alumni Lounge.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be the first presentation in the 2016-17 Daemen History and Politics event series, which is sponsored by the History and Political Science Department. 

In his lecture, Jozefowicz, a senior lecturer and international mobility coordinator at the American Studies Center of the University of Warsaw, will discuss the recent success of populist political movements in Poland, the United States, and in other countries.

The event is being co-sponsored by the Daemen Polish Studies Program, Department of History and Political Science, Global Programs Office, and the Division of Arts and Sciences, and the Permanent Chair of Polish Culture at Canisius College. Additional support is being provided by the Kosciuszko Foundation of Western New York.
