Top Student Leaders Honored at Daemen

May 13, 2016

AMHERST, N.Y. – Daemen College recognized outstanding student leaders in clubs, organizations and departments at the college’s annual Student Leadership Awards Luncheon hosted May 5 by the Office of Student Affairs.

“The college experience goes beyond the classroom experience,” said Dr. Greg Nayor, vice president for student affairs. “Everything a student does outside the classroom provides context for what is being learned in the classroom. This event is an opportunity to celebrate that work and recognize its value to the campus community.”

This year’s celebration marked the presentation of Daemen’s first Student Leader of the Year award to Jordan Quinones of Lockport, a graphic design and illustration major. The newly established award recognizes a student who has exhibited extraordinary efforts and achievement in student life at the college.

The Student Leadership Awards Luncheon also honored Daemen students who have been selected as national outstanding campus leaders and named to the 2016 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
