This year's 5th Annual Mock Interview Event was another success! Over 35 students were interviewed by 13 business professionals during this 2 hour event in the RIC. Every study room was reserved to create an traditional job interview atmosphere, where the students gain immediate feedback on their attire, resume, cover letter and interviewing strengths/weaknesses. Student members of SHRM, as well as Professor Buszka's senior HR class made sure everything ran smoothly.
The 2017 Buffalo Area Teacher Recruitment Days (TRD) was held at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center in Buffalo, NY on April 3-4th this year. It was a great success with over 120 Erie/Niagara and USA districts. The committee is now starting to plan for TRD 2018, stay tuned!
The Second Annual Alumni-Student Mentoring Brunch, as part of the 2016 Daemen College Homecoming festivities, was a great success. The event was held on Saturday, November 5th, in the Wick Alumni Lounge as a collaboration between Career Services and Alumni Relations. The Mentoring Brunch allowed students to network with Daemen College alumni in their field and build relationships that could further their goals post-graduation. Opening remarks were made by Jacquelyn Rizzo, Class of ’70 and Vice Chair of the Daemen College National Board of Governors, and Lamark Shaw, Associate Director of Career Services, followed by food and networking. Closing Remarks were given by Col. Jean Anderson, Class of ’92 and a 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient, on how mentorship has advanced her career in the U.S. Army.
