The Inclusion and Diversity Council is honored to introduce the inaugural Campus Justice Challenge! This competition encourages any campus member, n a collaborative partnership of students, staff, and faculty to share projects, research, and program ideas for improving the human experience (in-person and virtual) on our campuses. Teams will share their project ideas with the Daemen community and judges during the annual Diversity and Equity Summit, where a project will be chosen for implementation.
The Campus Justice Challenge culminates in an event during the Diversity and Equity Summit (April 9th) where:
- proposals will be presented to the college community for comments
- a jury comprised of persons active in anti-racist community mobilization/education, (student, staff, faculty, community member) will provide feedback to participants
- 1 or 2 winner(s) will be chosen for a Project Implementation Award (PIA), awarded to offset the costs of implementing winning projects.
Daemen College departments may sponsor a proposed project in order to provide additional practical and theoretical guidance for project group(s); and/or individual faculty/staff may mentor group participants and provide support for the implementation of the winning project(s).
