Daemen University will conduct a needs assessment and update its current facility master plan to prioritize innovative and responsible use of campus assets and modernize campus amenities.

Improve the facilities planning process by coordinating the use of campus space, promoting inventive reuse of existing assets, and continuing campus beautification efforts.
- Create a comprehensive and coordinated plan for assessing the efficient use of campus spaces and facilities.

- Develop a comprehensive plan for the ongoing management of landscaping and campus aesthetic appearance.
- Complete implementation of a campus key card access system and security camera system to increase safety and security.

Reaffirm the university’s commitment to environmental sustainability by prioritizing stewardship and responsible use of resources.
- Expand sustainability and environmentally conscious purchasing and use (e.g., LED light bulbs, environmentally sustainable cleaning agents).
- Consult sustainability guidelines when renovating or building new spaces, as well as in daily operations.
Daemen University will enhance the physical and social features of its campuses to ensure that all facilities—physical and virtual—are designed for all members of the campus community.

- Provide employee professional development and resources to improve the expertise and retention of Daemen employees.
Daemen University will standardize and strengthen the university’s instructional environments and digital infrastructure to enhance cybersecurity, ensure equitable access, support academic innovation, and promote data and digital literacy across all stakeholders.

- Standardize physical instructional spaces, including general-purpose classrooms, discipline-specific rooms, as well as HyFlex and multi-use learning environments.
- Implement a unified process for acquiring and providing equitable access to administrative and academic software and digital tools that align with pedagogical needs.

Invest in scalable and future-ready core technology infrastructure.
- Develop sustainable budgeting practices for future infrastructure upgrades, including the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, the replacement and upgrade of core network components, and continuing investment in cyber security resources.
- Plan phased improvements of campus network infrastructure, including upgrades to firewall and network core, deployment of new edge switches, and the implementation of next-generation Wi-Fi to improve connectivity and performance.

Advance institutional cybersecurity readiness and resilience.
- Maintain a vigilant cybersecurity posture to safeguard institutional data through expanded training for students, faculty, and staff via phishing and social engineering simulations.
- Partner with NYSERNet to access a comprehensive suite of higher education security services and to regularly assess policies and practices and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.

- Enhance the university’s data warehouse capabilities, increase access to visual analytics tools, and improve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of institutional data.
