Students at Daemen earn an impressive number of External Scholarships from various sources. There are scholarships out there for everyone. These are just some of the students who put in the work and reaped the rewards.
Julia won the Scott Spino Foundation Scholarship. This was awarded to students that participated in the Scott Spino Literacy program. Julia volunteered for two years with the group at her school, visiting elementary schools and reading to kids in kindergarten.
During the school year, Nicole works at Tops as a Customer Service Lead. Tops employees are part of the UFCW union that offers college students the ability to apply for a scholarship each year. Nicole received the UFCW scholarship for her 2 undergraduate years at Daemen, and this upcoming year.
Alina received the PSAL scholar athlete award and NY1 spectrum news award. Alina was nominated for the PSAL scholarship by her basketball coach and won the NY1 Spectrum News scholarship for being a high-achieving student athlete.
Dylan was awarded a scholarship from the Border Patrol Foundation, a private organization that supports the families of Border Patrol agents. Dylan’s father has been an agent for the last 23 years. He won a first-place scholarship based on grades, extracurricular activities, and an essay.
Shyanne received a scholarship from the USV Teacher's Association in her hometown in Ohio. To win the award she wrote an essay about a faculty member who mentored her.
Monahe was awarded a scholarship through her father’s employer. She was chosen as a winner based on her application, recommendations, academic achievement, community involvement, extra circulars, and character.
