Daemen welcomes Canadian students to both our undergraduate and graduate programs! Located in a safe and attractive suburban setting, Daemen offers convenient access to one of the country’s most vibrant regions, spanning Buffalo-Niagara, the Great Lakes, and a cross-border corridor with Ontario, Canada. Our beautiful campus is only 20 minutes from the Canadian border and less than a two-hour drive from Toronto.
Application Requirements for Students Residing in Canada Outside of Quebec
Step 1
Submit a Daemen University online application
Step 2
Undergraduate freshman: Submit all official secondary (high school) transcripts. Official transcripts must be sent directly from the student's school.
Undergraduate transfers and Graduate students: Submit all official secondary (high school) transcripts and post-secondary (college/university) transcripts.
Step 3
Submit SAT scores or apply test optional. Daemen University has a test optional policy which means the applicant has the choice to submit SAT scores. Applicants who choose test optional are required to submit; a personal essay, two letters of recommendation, and a resume highlighting:
- Leadership skills
- Extracurricular activities
- Community service
- Global experience
Step 4
Once you are fully accepted, you will need to obtain F-1 student status. Please complete the Application for a Form I-20 and submit using our secure upload at daemen.edu/IntDocUpload
Step 5
Pay your I-901 fee.
Scholarships and Tuition
Academic scholarships are offered to international students who are accepted into Daemen University. Please note the tuition and fees for the academic year.
Do I need to apply for a student visa?
Canadian citizens are not required to receive a student visa in advance however, they do need to follow the immigration requirements to enter the U.S. as an F-1 student.
What if I want to be a border commuter?
Please contact the Global Programs office at international@daemen.edu if you plan on being a commuter student.
