Your privacy and trust are important to us. All counseling sessions are confidential. Sessions are protected by state law and professional ethical standards. No information can be released without your written authorization. However, confidentiality is legally limited. Your counselor will speak with you about the limits of confidentiality when you first meet.
In person sessions take place in the CHIP Center. Teletherapy (virtual) counseling sessions are also available. Due to New York State (NYS) licensing restrictions, teletherapy services can only be provided to students who are currently in New York State. That said, the counseling team can meet with students to discuss resource connection in these situations.
