Why did you choose Daemen University?
I choose Daemen for it’s exceptional volleyball team and culture, as well as it’s excellent science programs. I desired a school with a family atmosphere, tight-knit community, and low student to teacher ratio.
Why did you choose your present major?
I chose to major in biochemistry, because I want to be a chiropractor and thought that biochemistry would fulfill all of my prerequisites while also giving me a lot of experience in the world of science and medicine.
Please briefly describe your Scholar's Day.
Scholars Day was a nerve-wracking day for me, filled with excitement and anxiousness. I was in a new place and didn’t know any of my peers. The older scholars and student workers at Daemen greeted me warmly and made me feel at ease. My interviewed were kind and attentive. At Scholars Day, I met a lot of people, some of whom I am still friends with today. It was a fantastic experience to hat turned out to be completely worth it!
Please describe your academic experience at Daemen.
Daemen academics have taught me a lot. I’ve learned to push myself to complete tasks on time, manage my time, prepare for exams, and always think ahead.
What do you like best about Daemen?
The family atmosphere.
What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen University? What kinds of things do they do?
I am on the women’s volleyball team at Daemen. We compete in the fall and train year round together. I really enjoy being on such a competitive and fun team!
What piece of advice would you give to prospective students?
College will teach you a lot but just be prepared to face adversity and take challenges head on. It will only get better and don’t be afraid of the challenges that you face.
