Why did you choose Daemen University?

I chose Daemen University because I felt like it would be the best fit for me academically due to the Physician Assistant Program. Also the community feel of this school made it feel more welcoming and definitely helped my transition from high school to college.

Why did you choose your present major?

I chose my major because I have always had a passion for the sciences, problem solving, and helping others. Becoming a PA will allow me to pursue all of my passions by helping others in ways that most can, and achieving my goal of becoming a life long learner.

Please briefly describe your Scholar's Day.

Scholars day was a very nerve-racking day with a lot on the line. The current trustee scholars helped ease my nerves by just simple small talk. They also gave advice and encouraged us as we entered our interviews. The interviewer made me feel comfortable, and the interview felt more like a natural conversation, than just Q and A.

Please describe your academic experience at Daemen.

My academic experience at Daemen has been better than I could've hoped for. The professors truly care about your success and want you to do well. I have been able to form a relationship with all of my professors. Also, with academic coaching and PLTL, there are so many resources on campus that have helped me to succeed up until this point.

What do you like best about Daemen?

My favorite part of Daemen is the community feel that I think so many other schools lack. This is felt with students, staff, and professors. Everyone is so open and willing to get to know one another. The professors truly care about the success of their students, and everyone is really here to help one another perform to the best of their ability.

What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen University? What kinds of things do they do?

I am currently apart of Cru. With Cru, we meet once a week for an hour to help better connect ourselves with Jesus Christ. This club allows me a break from my hectic schedule. It allows me to make deeper connections with students and it allows me to continue my relationship with god amidst a challenging adjustment from living at home and going to high school and being away from home learning at a college level. I am also a Tour Guide for the Admissions Office which I love!

What is your favorite spot to stop by in town?

Spot Coffee is definitely one of my favorite weekend places. Its a perfect place to go to get some schoolwork done. It allows for a change of scenery from the library. It is a nice and short walk and allows me a good environment to relax and get some schoolwork done.

What piece of advice would you give to prospective students?

Pick a college that you think will be the best fit for you and only you. Choosing a college is your decision to make and will have a big effect on your future and career. Keep in mind academics, extracurricular activities, and just the overall feel of the campus. If you feel like that school is Daemen, that's awesome. If not, just choose whatever school you think will meet your needs best.
