Why did you choose Daemen University?
I chose Daemen University because it's a smaller school but offers a quality education with the small student to professor ratio.
Why did you choose your present major?
I chose Bio pre-med because I have always had an eagerness to learn. Studying medicine will continue to challenge me throughout my life as it is always changing and evolving.
Please briefly describe your Scholar's Day.
My Scholar's Day was a little terrifying. I felt overwhelmed and under-prepared. However, once the interview process began, I felt more comfortable like I was having an informal discussion about topics that I enjoyed.
Please describe your academic experience at Daemen.
Starting college has been an eye opening experience for me. I have had to alter my study methods as well as having to stretch myself to go out of my comfort zone in order to meet new people.
What do you like best about Daemen?
What I like best about Daemen are the professors and the family-like atmosphere. The professors go above and beyond to help you perform to your full potential. Rather than having a competitive nature between my peers and I, we look to each other for help, encouragement and inspiration.
What clubs or organizations have you been a part of here at Daemen University? What kinds of things do they do?
I am a part of the Honors Program, Environmental Club, and Pre-Med Club. Each of these programs allow students with similar interests to come together and make an impact on both their futures and the Daemen campus as a whole.
What is your favorite spot to stop by in town?
I love going to a homemade ice cream shop called Sweet Jenny's. No matter what time of the year it is, it always hits the spot.
What piece of advice would you give to prospective students?
College takes a strong work ethic but it is ultimately worth it. You have to be able to manage your time between studying and fun because the work can get overwhelming. Make studying fun by getting snacks and studying with a friend. The first few weeks can be terrifying but stick with it and it will pay off.
